About

ME: Welcome to Growing Pains by Kelly Davis! I’m Kelly, the author, creator, and photographer giving you some real insight into my own life. My biggest (and favorite) roles define me as mother, wife, and child of God. My husband and I have been married for over 4 years and were high school sweethearts. We were both raised and currently live in the Midwest. Our daughter was born in early 2013 with our son to follow during the summer of 2015! I also have a part-time career in counseling that I took after completing my master’s degree. Since early 2013, the whirlwind of learning to balance life from our growing family (hence the blog name) has created many lessons learned for myself. Join me on our ride as I share my experiences!

THE BLOG: When I stumble across an interesting blog (which happens daily), I like to come to this exact same section in search of two things: who that person is and why they started their blog. I have covered who I am above, so let me explain why I started this blog. Two reasons fueled my desire to write about my life:

1)   For my family: As I go through the trials and tribulations of learning to become an adult, I often find myself wondering how these experiences looked for my own mother. Of course, she can tell me about them, but as we all know, when the moments are long behind us it can be harder for us to recall all the details (just try to tell someone about your elementary school experiences and you will see what I mean). I am hoping this documented journey will be something my child (hopefully children) can reflect on later in life!

2)   To help someone else: I thank Pinterest, blogs, and Facebook for teaching me so many things about life I never thought about (homemade soap, storage solutions, homemade Halloween costumes, etc.). There came a point where I started to think, “Hey, I am sure someone could learn something from me.” I hope to help someone else as I discuss my own journey.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me! I hope that you learn something from me! I would also love to learn something from you as well, so contact me!

And, last but certainly not least...
